Budd Coates, Runner’s World coach and four-time Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier, recently tried the Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill. This is what he had to say: "The treadmill uses NASA developed technology to create a unique, low-impact running experience. An airtight, inflatable chamber is located at the waist, meaning the legs are not exposed to any resistance. The Alter G can unweight a runner’s body of up to 80 percent of their body weight. Unlike underwater treadmills, which also offer reduced weight rehabilitation, runners are able to maintain their typical gait. The reduced stress on the joints allows the treadmill to be used for physical therapy or lower impact training.
